Apologies! I seem to not have any time to blog at the moment and once you miss a few weeks it's easy to never get around to it. I will endeavor to write another post in the next week. Maybe doing another one will get me back into it again!

Sorry for the lack of responses, I've been jetting around for work in the last week!

ER: I'm glad it wasn't just me taking out frustations about the oldies!

Carissa: Thanks! I don't mind self checkout as I got used to them in the UK, but when they go wrong they are a pain. Milan is a love it or hate it place perhaps - quite noisy and busy, but there are a lot more jobs here than other parts...

Frankie: Thanks, yet the buses are really full, but they are every 3 minutes and run until 1:30am, so I guess that is a good service! Every now and then I need a big coffee, but I also enjoy my espressos too.

Michelle: Yes, pretty touch-screens nonetheless. I think it is a technology leap to far!

Nice post! It's so true about elderly people! Have you noticed they use the bus a lot more too here in Italy? Bus rides are like a game of musical chairs with everyone getting up and down to let the eldery have a seat!
And about the coffee- I happen to have developed a taste for espresso (luckily, otherwise what would I drink?) but whenever my mother comes to Rome she sends me a message as soon as she arrives back in England saying "ah, finally a decent-sized cup of coffee"!

Ciao! I was browsing expats Rome when I found your blog. Hilarious. I'm not a fan of self checkout, and at the pace Italians move, I probably wouldn't be a fan of it there either. :)
I'm planning/dreaming about moving to Italy next year. I'll be counting on you for some fun inside info :) So why Milan?

LOL, I lived in Milan for nine months and these truisms are right on, especially the old people walking slowly and blocking the path, God bless 'em. And you're right, as soon as you learn some Italian swear words, you start hearing them all over the place!
